Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow: Why You Need This in Your Makeup Bag!

Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow: Why You Need This in Your Makeup Bag!

It’s all about the glitz and the glam… and glitter eyeshadow is one way to make a statement. Whether you’re going for a subtle shimmer to brighten up your look or full-on glam and loud colors, liquid glitter eyeshadow is a great option for adding some sparkle to your look. Here are some frequently asked questions when it comes to liquid glitter eyeshadow!

Is Liquid Eyeshadow Better than Powder?

It all depends on what you’re going for. It’s hard to really say one type is better than the other. Powder eyeshadow may be a little easier to blend and a little lighter going on. However, liquid eyeshadow can provide rich color with just one layer, so it can feel light too, in addition to being more intense. What’s more, when it comes to liquid glitter eyeshadow, the glitter is often more pronounced because the pieces of glitter can be a bit bigger when suspended in a liquid (as opposed to powderized glitter in a powder eyeshadow). Finally, liquid eyeshadow is definitely easier to apply since it comes with a built-in applicator and can be applied in one swipe. We’re talking about saving a miniscule amount of extra time here, but still, when rushing around in the morning, sometimes you want all the time hacks you can get!

How Do You Apply Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow?

First off, start with eyelid primer. If you’re not using a separate primer for your eyes, well, get on it! Eye primer is specially formulated for the eye area and can help eye makeup stay on better and longer — this is especially important when it comes to liquid glitter eyeshadow. It also helps eliminate the dreaded smudging of eye makeup! After you’ve applied the primer, get out your liquid eyeshadow applicator, pressing it against the side of the eyeshadow tube as you take it out so that there isn’t too much (which can look too gloppy once applied). Swipe along your crease first to create a line within which to color in the rest of your lid, then color it all in. You can blend it if you want to, add another color along your lash line, or dab a little of a lighter color near the inside corners of your eyes. How Do You Blend Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow?

Can you blend liquid glitter eyeshadow? Yes! You just need a small makeup brush and you’re ready. Immediately after applying, take your brush and quickly but gently brush the area to blur edges, tone down the color, or blend multiple colors of liquid eyeshadow.
